“With deep regret, National Road Autosport has decided to cancel the rescheduled 2018 Polish Mountain Hill Climb October event, due to continuation of the record wet conditions that caused postponement of our regularly scheduled date in August.
“The paddock field is in worse condition now than in August. Average two-month rainfall in Allegheny County for August and September totals about six inches. Over a foot of rain has fallen in Flintstone just in September, resulting in standing water in all lower areas of the paddock. Efforts to cut the paddock have been unsuccessful to the point where the cutting tractor required assistance to be extracted.
“Organizers have not deposited any checks sent for mailed entries and will destroy those checks. Full entry fee refunds for MAE entrants will be mailed from National Road Autosport next week. Service fees at My Auto Events are non-refundable.
“We were very excited about the chance to stage a unique Fall Foliage version of our event, but Mother Nature was decidedly uncooperative. With thanks for the support we received from racers, sanctioning entities, public agencies and volunteers, we look forward to seeing everyone at Polish Mountain in 2019.
